Kid-friendly words that are easy to draw
This generator only uses words that young children know and can sketch with circles, lines and triangles. There are 94 words in four groups: animals, fun stuff, food and people. Every word is safe for school and family game night.
How to play with kids
- Choose Easy for preschool and early grades, or Medium for older kids.
- The drawer taps Hide word, gets a new word, and starts drawing.
- Set a relaxed timer of 90 seconds or 2 minutes, or skip the timer entirely.
- Cheer every good guess. With little ones, it is more fun to give points to both teams.
Ideas for parents and teachers
- Vocabulary practice: after each round, ask kids to spell the word or use it in a sentence.

Frequently asked questions
What are good Pictionary words for kids?
Choose things children see every day and can draw with simple shapes: animals, food, toys, and favorite characters like dinosaurs, robots and unicorns.
What age is this for?
Easy words suit ages 4 to 7. Medium words such as rocket, treasure chest and fire truck are great for ages 7 to 12.
How do I play Pictionary with young kids?
Skip the strict timer or set it to 90 seconds, let teams help each other, and give points for good tries. For very young kids, an adult can read the word aloud quietly to the drawer.
Is it good for classrooms?
Yes. Put the page on a projector, keep the word hidden, and let students come up to the whiteboard. It works as a vocabulary review, a brain break or a rainy-day indoor recess game.
